Still Around
Well, things have been incredibly busy as of late and I have not taken the time to blog but I am back. Things are going pretty well around the house, James is looking for a new job, I am expecting a promotion at my job soon, Jessica is getting ready to start Kindergarten and Jordan is too happy to be able to go to Grammies house again.
Mom seems to be doing really well after having her knee replaced just three weeks ago and Dad's toe looks lots better after he broke it just a day before mom's surgery. It was really, really ugly.
Aunt Jana took the time to come to mom's house today and cut mine and Jessica's hair. I just told her I want to get rid of the poof in my hair so she added layers and shortened my bangs. I think it did the job. Jessica requested a duplication of a hair cut that she had when she was 3. It was above her ears and it was only that short because she had gotten ahold of a pair of scissors while I thought she was asleep and we had to cut it that short just to get it all the same length. Well, I am not going to allow it to be cut that short willingly so we compromised to a bob just at her jaw line. We started by cutting it to her shoulders but she still wanted it shorter, then I agreed (admittedly against James wishes) to let her have it cut to her jawline. James pouted the entire time she was getting the second cut but when it was over he agreed that she looked cute. I think it's important that she like her hair because she is starting school soon and she needs to feel confident.
I went to enroll Jessica in Kindergarten on Thursday and they said that they are full and not accepting any more enrollments. Well, it's not as if we are asking for a favor, I am trying to enroll her in the school that she is assigned to go to based on where we live. Since they have turned us away, I am planning to head to the school board first thing in the morning. I hate having to start off her school career on anything less than a perfectly positive note. I would hate for anything to ruin her excitement.
Christian is starting school on the 16th and James and I get to pick him up from school and meet his teacher that day. Later in the day he has an appointment with Laurie to discuss overnights with us. Woohoo! It will be so nice when we can actually spend a whole weekend together as a family and not have to worry about whether or not Rachel will show up or if she's been out all night on Saturday and if she plans to wake up to bring him to us on Sunday mornings.
