Everything is changing

Well, Christian started school on Wednesday. That was a busy day. I took off work about 15 minutes early so that I could ride with James to pick up Christian. I stayed in the car with the girls while James went inside. It was a difficult decision, I wanted to go inside with James to show my support for him but I have a responsibility to protect the girls from drama. I was relieved to see James walking towards the car with Christian by his side. Christian was happy that his dad had picked him up from school and asked if he could pick him up the next day too. He was also a little worried about his mom being mad. She had told him not to go home with his dad and he was worried that she wouldn't pick him up because she didn't know where he was. He seemed to relax when I just told him that dad is the boss too and he did the right thing. I promised him that his daddy had told his mom that he would pick him up from school and his mom knew where he was and where to pick him up for the night. He seemed to accept that and he was able to stop worrying and start having fun.

James brought the girls and I home to get ready for enrollment night at Jessica's school while he took Christian to see the Guardian ad Litem. Not alot happened there. The guardian seems to be generally displeased with the bahavior of Rachel and Jim but she doesn't seem to be doing much about it. She did say though that Christian is allowed to be alone with me now. Woohoo! That seems like a given but it's actually a pretty big improvment. Maybe things are looking up on that front.

Once the boys were done at the guardian's office they came and picked us up and we all headed out to Jessica's school. We got to meet her teacher, Ms Andrews and find out where her classroom is. We couldn't see alot but we did peek in the window and it looks like a fun place to me.

On Thursday mom kept the girls late for me and James and I attended parent orientation at Christian's school. Because Rachel chose not to tell James about the orientation, I was worried that there would be drama at the school, I even considered not going with James just so my presence would be one less thing for her to be upset about; But he said Laurie (the Guardian) told him that she wants Christian treated like an equal in our family. So, there it is... he is an equal, we go together to Jessica's school events and we will go together to Christian's. The teacher was asking for volunteers. I would love to volunteer especially since my employer is working around my kids school schedules so easily. I need to think it over a bit more before I make that commitment, I think it would be great for my relationship w/ Christian but it could be very bad for my relationship with Rachel. Now the question is... how much consideration do I owe Rachel? Should I be more concerned with not offending her because she'll make us pay by being spiteful and filing more unncessary motions in court or should I be more concerned with building a good relationship with Christian. I would love for him to grow up knowing that he can always count on his dad and I to be actively involved in his life.

Jessica starts school Monday morning at 8:30am. Wow, my baby is in kindergarten! It should be lots of fun... there will be many many pictures taken for sure. I can't wait to see her all dressed up in her little uniforms. Next Wednesday there will be a back to school night for parents. The note they sent home about it said that we should not bring the children. Is that normal? Her teacher has also already started asking for volunteers and school hasn't even started. I am definately going to volunteer in her class. She was asking me to go to work at her school before she left La Petite and now that she is starting Kindergarten she has started asking the same thing so I think she will be pleased to have me volunteering in her class.

My new work schedule will be 1145 to 345 starting on Monday. My original goal was to work while she was at school but since she will be in school for such a short time each day, that was too hard to work out so I will change my schedule again when she is out of kindergarten. This will give me some quality time with Jordan. We've never really had much time together one on one so this will be good for us.

On Wednesday the 9th James had an interview at Hertz. They called him the next day to ask for an example of his work. We talked yesterday morning about when or if they would call. We/I said that because they require drug testing he should not expect a call on Friday... the soonest he would hear from them at this point is Monday so that he could do his drug test within 24 hours. Well, I was wrong. He did get a call from Hertz but it wasn't a job offer... at least not yet. They were asking for proof of his current employment, w2's and a current paystub, since he checked the box saying they can not contact his current employer. I still think he will get a call on Monday with a job offer but I wasn't expecting the call about his employment verification, that caught me completely off guard.. but it was great, it's a good thing to have some encouragement before the weekend. The position would be from 8am to 445pm. That would be great, it would be the first time we've ever been like a normal family with normal work schedules and dinner times.. ha

I was feeling brave last night and I decided to cut Jordan's hair. I've been really trying to let her hair grow but it just hasn't been filling in and it won't stay out of her eyes and even minutes after brushing her hair it looked dirty and unkept. I think the cut will do her hair a lot of good, it will finally all be the same length... at least for the most part... (I don't cut very straight.. ha) and it should start growing back faster and thicker. She likes it alot.. she'll just look in the mirror, tilt her head and smile at herself. At first, I thought I would need to have someone fix my mess but I gave it a second go and it looks pretty cute. However, James would disagree, he says it's too short.

Here is a pic of Jessica's new hair cut too.
