Catching Up

Well, It's been awhile...

Last I posted we were getting ready for Easter. Easter went ok. It was busy, lots of people, even grandad. Rachel was 20 mins late dropping Christian off but since we didn't really expect her to show at all... we were just glad to have him with us. When we got home, the Easter Bunny had visited. All of the kids were sooo excited. Christian said that this was the only place the Easter Bunny had visited him. I had mixed feelings about that... from the SM role, I am glad he had something special here, from the BM role, I can't imagine having my little one on Easter Morning and not doing something special for them. After Christian was here, we got all set up and the kids each got to color easter eggs. They all had a great time dying the eggs.... Jordan not only had a good time, she made a big, big mess. After lunch Sara, mom and I went out to hide the eggs. Since the kids who were hunting eggs were very young, we wanted the eggs to be easy to find. Sara and I stood in one spot and rolled the eggs across the yard. It was actually a lot of fun. Mom hid some eggs in a little more difficult and higher places so that there would be a little challenge for Christian since he is so big. ;-)

Dad brought his microphone and amplifier, the kids took turns singing... whatever came to mind when they were up there. With Christian, it was R.E.D. red, with Jordan it was her ABC's, with Jessica.... it was whatever she was thinking... not a conventional song at all.... just thoughts to the music in her head... hahaha!

While we were outside, Christian showed me cuts on his ankle and side, he said that he got them jumping on his Nana's bed. The same Nana who shut her car trunk while his arm was still in the way just a few month's ago. Sigh! Poor Kid!

This week when we went to get Christian, Rachel was on time, even early. The first time she was ever on time. She has gotten a cell phone as recommended by the guardian. She was too busy to talk to James when we got there, she was on the phone with Buddy. Then when we were about to drive off, she was ready to talk. Then she called James' cell to let him know her new cell number and told him that Laurie wants him to call her about the graduation. Rachel is still insisting on going. Why can't Laurie call James instead of sending messages to him through Rachel?

It was a trying day with Christian. He seemed to be trying to be difficult. He was bossy with me and James, he was yelling at Jordan (and James was allowing it) and Jessica just couldn't do anything to please him. He crossed his arms and told us he wasn't eating dinner, he'd just wait for his mom to take him to get chicken. James separated the meat and macaroni and Christian ate a couple of table spoons of mac and cheese.. finally. (I made cheeseburger macaroni.) He ate it with his fingers, even though we tried reminding him to use his fork.

It sounds like it was all around a bad day, it wasn't we had moments. The kids played outside with James quite a bit and then played with me outback, I was trying to water the lawn but it turned into letting the kids play in the waterhose instead. I love to hear the kids laughing and playing together.

He seemed to have a tickle in his throat this weekend. Rachel wanted us to give him some medicine but he didn't really seem to need it. He never complained, didn't have a fever or any other symptoms. She said he had allergies. If he's sick as often as she says, there is something wrong. I have talked to our family pediatrician who Christian used to see himself until Rachel threw a fit and was too embarrassed to go back, she said that we could schedule a well child check up and she would order some testing to check his iron and vitamin levels etc to find out if he is in fact healthy. Now, we've put calls into our attorney to get his advice before we take Christian out of school to do this... he isn't calling back. Surprised? No.

We still have not been able to get our first counseling visit out of the way. Everytime we make an appointment, something happens and the counseling center cancels or changes our appt. It has been an ongoing and frustrating ordeal, just trying to cooperate.

Gosh! This post doesn't sound very positive. I will work on that for my next post... Mental note: Be Perky!
