Zoo
Wednesday we took 6 kids to the zoo with three adults. The zoo was insanely full of people but we decided to brave it and we had a really nice time. I am glad that we decided to fight the crowds. The kids had a lot of fun. James took the 4 big kids in to see the snakes and lizzards. They got to watch a snake eat a mouse. The boys thought it was too cool but Jessica thought it was too gross. We saw the Gorillas and the tigers but one of the cutest if you can believe it was the Rhino exhibit. There is a two month old baby Rhino and it was showing off for everyone. It was bouncing and dancing around like he knew he was putting on a show. The most interactive exhibit were the sea lions. They were doing tricks for the kids. When you put your hand on the glass down below they would follow your hand if you made big circles. That was a big attraction. Lots of people were crowded in there watching the sea lions play. Rachel and Christian drama aside, it was a good trip to the zoo.
I am really very worried about Christian; He is getting very agressive on top of his short attention span. In the gift shop, it was really hard to get Christians attention and get him to stay in one spot. There were just too many people there for him to be running off by himself, it wasn't safe; But I have to say that I called him over to me so many times that even I was tired of hearing myself talk. I had to tell James that I can't do that anymore, not until Christian is taught that I have some authority, I can't be made responsible for keeping him safe if he's just going to ignore me. When we got to the zoo, James and I were standing with all of the big kids while Jeanie was loading up her stroller, Christian walked right up to me and hit me and then moved on like nothing ever happened. I told James he needed to say something. Now, if that were one of "MY" kids, they would have had a sore rear end. (Somehow, I don't think Louise means it when she says she wants all of the kids to be treated the same.) But Christian, he was told very quietly and politely not to hit. He got in more trouble for pushing a random little girl down in the aquarium than he did for hitting me; He got timeout for hitting Jessica. He also got into a fight at school last week. When we asked what happened to his elbow, where he had a bandaid he said that Daniel pushed him down. Why did Daniel push him down? Because Christian hit him in the face, why did Christian hit him? He doesn't like him... finally we found out that Daniel who Christian says he doesn't like was wanting the same ball that Christian wanted. This is too much meaness from one kid in one week!

Danny and Emily got here about 2:00 p.m. I asked him what he did at the zoo with you all and he immediately started talking about that snake and the rat that it ate. His little eyes were just beaming. You have made a buddy, that is for sure. Emily said yuck when he told that story. LOL.. She told me that she was going next time. Looks like you have to go to the Zoo again. LOL
Guess you are a shoe in for the Favorite Aunt of the Year Award.
Love Mom
