No Resolution Today
Well, we were supposed to have a hearing this morning to enforce the existing judgement for custody and visitation. The current judgement states that James should have Christian 15 days per month. Since the wedding, we have had Christian a total of 6 times, days only, no overnights... that is 6 times in 2 1/2 months. Before the judge even got to call the docket, the lawyers were in a frenzy.... We had a guardian ad litem appointed for Christian who promised she could get an investigation done in about a week to a week and a half and we rescheduled the enforcement hearing until March 29th. After the guardian completes her investigation and makes her recommendation, it will be signed into judgement. We have an appointment for an interview with her on Sunday at 2pm. Rachel has her appointment for Tuesday at 1pm and Christian has an appointment for Thursday. All we can do at that point is lay out everything we know about Rachel, her lack of compliance with the existing order, her criminal history including the recent warrant, the drug and criminal history of her sister who is her roommate (which has to do with the environment that he is being raised in.) the fact that he was not picked up from school and was missing for over an hour before anyone cared to report it and James was not contacted and the fact that at her house, he has to share a room with his mother... here he has his own room that he likes a lot. Then we just sit back and pray that this guardian ad litem makes the right decision.
We did not speak to Rachel at all, everyone kept thier distance. She came in with Buddy and Louise right by her side. I knew that Buddy would be there but James and I were both a little surpised to see that Louise had taken off of work for the occasion. I think James was more than surprised by it, he was hurt. Somewhere inside, I know he keeps holding out hope that Louise is an unwilling participant in this who simply can't stand up to her husband. Unfortunately the facts that she kept James' son from him on his wedding day and now she came to court with Rachel prove that she is a very willing participant.
