Life Moves Fast

Well, on Sunday morning James called Rachel again. After some discussion and eventually compromise, Rachel agreed to let us have Christian while she was at work for the day. She said she'd drop him at @11:30am and pick him up at 9pm. She dropped him off pretty much on time. We just stuck around the house and everyone played outside together for a while. It was really nice. It was a family. In the evening, I had to go get beds etc from our old house. Before I left I said to all of the kids, "I'm leaving, who wants to give me hugs?" Christian was the first to jump up and grab me. He can be so sweet! I was back about 7:30pm but Rachel came early to get him and I missed getting to say goodbye. After I got home, I thought about something.... she says Christian can't be alone with me... I was driving James' car when I left. If his car wasn't here, why was she stopping to pick up Christian early? My thought, she saw the lights and was hoping that Christian would be here with me, without James so that she could throw a fit. Maybe I'm wrong, it's happened before. Ha!

Monday Thomas came over for dinner, Craig was here for games and food too. I made goulash burritos.

Tuesday it snowed. I kept the kids home. It was a long day but at the end of it, James came in from school early, tried to sneak in to surprise me. He succeeded in sneaking in and scaring the poop out of me but his heart was in the right place. HA! He is a sweetie.

Today we went and looked at another house. It's in a nice area off of NW 81st and Western. We filled out an app and he told us he'd make a few calls and let us know. James left for school about 12:15pm. I called the owner of the house about 1pm to see if he'd made any decisions. He said he'd let me know by 5pm. He called me back about 2:30ish and told me that we got the house. WOOHOO!! Finally!! I am going to meet him tomorrow morning to pick up the key @ 9am. The house has 3 bedrooms, two of them have hard wood floors, those will be the kids rooms. It also has a big fenced in back yard. It checks out really well on the new 9 crimetracker and familywatchdog. It has a 1 car garage with w/d hookups, ch&a. It's small but I think it will be a house that we can make a nice home.

We also had a parent/teacher conference with Christian's teacher this morning. It went pretty well. We found out that he is supposed to be working with flash cards 15 mins per night. A set of flash cards that his teacher sends home but Rachel, Buddy or Louise have never given us when we pick him up. Chances are that we will never see those specific flash cards but I am going to pick some up at the store tomorrow, it's the best we can do given the situation. Christian is having some issues with recognizing his letters and sounding them out, also with his sight words. His teacher is going to email a list of words to be working with him on learning by sight. She also said to work with him on his fine motor skills.

After a very busy morning, we went to wal-mart and did some shopping. We picked up more meds for my rash which has not gotten any better... Hopefully, this new stuff will work, I've been itchy for too long.

Tonight, Jessie is saying that her tummy is hurting, she even started crying. I gave her some baby gas meds... It doesn't seem to be helping. Sigh... Guess we'll be headed to the Dr tomorrow.

My niece is 10 yrs old. She is having a big week. She started her period on Sunday, her mom called last night and said her girl scout troop is selling cookies and Saturday she has her first basketball game. WOW! She's growing up!!
