Roses

Well, last night was interesting. James came home with three bouquets of roses. They were beautiful. The first roses, he ever gave me; he won them in a raffle at work.

Craig was here soon after, we had a nice dinner, I think. We had baked porkchops, mashed potatoes and corn. Everyone said they liked it, but no one had a second plate. So, I got mixed signals.

Also, Rachel called last night. Our lawyer told us not to talk to her unless it was being recorded. James answered quickly so, I grabbed the cam and turned it on..... turns out, it was not good.... the tape was half way through our wedding video. I can't believe I taped her over our wedding. UGH!! It's my fault but it's still frustrating. Rachel wanted James to agree to meet with her alone today but he wasn't supposed to tell his attorney or Louise or Buddy about it, it had to be a secret. James said no pretty quickly. She asked him what he's going to do, if he was going to get a lawyer. She seemed offended when he said yes. She started with a barrage of questions. She said she wanted to meet and talk about this, she doesn't want to get lawyers involved. She seems to have forgotten that she already got lawyers involved, she started this. We already knew, but she finally admitted that Buddy gave her the money for her lawyer. In one breath she would say that she wants James to see Christian and she wants to work this out but in the next breath she would refuse to allow Christian to spend the night with him. James reminded her that he is supposed to have Christian 15 days per month but she almost seemed not to hear him. James asked her repeatedly where Christian will be today when he gets off of work but she never answered him. She only responded with asking him about whether or not he was going to keep him over night, because if he was, he couldn't have him. When they got off of the phone, she still hadn't told him where Christian would be today at 4pm. At one point, she told him that she was upset that he wasn't trying to work things out with his mother. Well, that's not something that she can dictate. James tried to talk to his mother before the wedding, she broke his heart when she refused. Since then, she has hidden his son from him, kept him away from our wedding, allowed her husband to insult and curse at both of us, paid for the ex-wife's lawyer, taken Christian for Christmas without any regard for James' right or desire to have him for Christmas morning and was completely two-faced in front of her family when we had to cancel our Christmas plans and drive to Goldsby to pick him up as a result of their games. None of these things sound like things that James can fix without some effort from Louise. Louise seems perfectly content with the situation as it is. Apparently, Rachel was upset that I spoke to Christian while she was in our home. What happened was that he was tattling on Jordan for something that James had already gotten onto her for. He was speaking directly to me. I had to acknowledge that he was talking to me but there wasn't any need for me to get onto Jordie because James had a handle on it. So, I said to Christian. "ok." He kept telling me what she was doing and I said again. "ok." Now Rachel has twisted that into me scolding Christian and telling him "OK, Christian. That's enough." If that were true, Rachel would have said something right then. Geez, it's ridiculous that I am not even supposed to speak to him. If I'd ignored him, she would have been offended by that too. It's a lose, lose situation with her. We try to keep our home open to her so that she can get to know me and see how we are as a family and how Christian thrives here but at some point, we are going to have to draw the line and stop allowing her into our home because everytime she's here, it's drama again. Anyway!

Jordan was up most of the night, I don't know what is going on with her but I miss the days when she slept alone in her own bed, all night. Lately, she wants to sleep with me. I don't mind cuddling for a few minutes if they have a bad dream but to sleep with us all night, isn't something that I want to encourage.

James and Craig played games until 1am. Craig is coming back tonight and plans to come over on Sunday too. We are back to where we were in the beginning, Craig is a part of the package again. It's not a bad thing, he's entertaining but when they asked what I thought about Craig coming over tonight, new year's eve, I just said, "Make sure that you kiss ME at midnight, not Craig, and I'm ok." ha I am glad that he has someone to play games with. I wish we could afford to go out tonight but since we can't, it's good that he'll still get to enjoy himself.

I set up a new email addy today. James said he liked the new address. I wasn't certain what he'd think since I used his last name in it. Although, I suppose, it's my last name now too, I can use it if I like. HA! I even went on Thursday and got a new driver's license and changed my name.

Joy, sweety, you can not live your lives to please Rachel. She has to come to the reality, that James has moved on and she IS NOT going to be the boss of him anymore. You and he will be making your own minds up about what you will or will not do in your home. She knows that if you got a lawyer, that she does not have a leg to stand on and that she could land up not getting any time with him at all. Louise knows this too and is probably putting Rachel up to the tacktick. Be careful.
I love you!
